The Shield is a round rosette door handle lock — a compact two-piece design using a round lever rosette and a separate round cylinder plate, finished with a plain, unfaceted lever bar. It’s the plainest, most minimal rosette-style lock in the range, without the diamond or pyramid faceting used on the Guardian and Orion.
Key Features of Round Rosette Door Handle Lock
- Round lever rosette with a separate round cylinder plate
- Plain, straight lever bar — no faceting or ornamentation
- Matte black finish
- Minimalist, understated silhouette
- Compact footprint compared to full mortise sets
- Suited to standard interior rosette door prep
Why Choose This Product
Where the Guardian and Orion use angular, faceted levers on square rosettes, the Shield keeps things circular and plain — a round rosette with a smooth, unadorned lever bar. It suits interiors already built around round hardware — round switch plates, round door knobs elsewhere, or a generally softer, less angular design language than square geometric fittings.
Best For / Not For
Best for: Bedroom and office doors, minimalist modern interiors, homes using round-profile hardware elsewhere, multi-door installations wanting a plain, unobtrusive handle.
Not recommended for: Main entry doors — rosette locks are built for interior doors, not high-security main entrances. Also not the fit if you want a decorative or geometric lever — see Guardian or Orion instead.

Compatibility
Fits standard interior door prep for round rosette-style handle sets, on wooden doors, left or right opening. Not suited for glass or sliding doors. If replacing an existing rosette lock, confirm the backplate shape (round vs square) and size match — send a photo on WhatsApp to check.
Applications
Suited to interior doors across homes and offices — bedrooms, home offices, and store rooms where a plain, compact handle is preferred over a decorative or full mortise set. Works well in apartments and commercial interiors needing multiple matching interior door locks installed quickly.
Buying Guide
If you want a full mortise set (backplate + latch + cylinder in one long plate), choose from our Mortise range (Nova, Ember, Onyx, Sentinel) instead. If you want a square rosette with a faceted geometric lever, see the Guardian (flatter diamond-cut) or the Orion (bolder pyramid facet, 2 finishes). The Shield is the plain, round option of the three rosette-style locks.
Common mistake: Assuming rosette and mortise locks are interchangeable on the same door prep — check your door’s existing cutout style before ordering, since the two mechanisms are not compatible with the same prep.

Installation Guide
- Confirm your door has (or can have) standard round rosette-lock prep — separate holes for lever rosette and cylinder plate
- Mount the cylinder plate and lever rosette in their respective positions
- Attach the lever and backplate on both sides of the door
- Test the key, latch, and lever operation before finalizing
- Professional installation recommended for correct alignment
Maintenance
Wipe the matte black finish with a soft, dry cloth — avoid abrasive cleaners which can dull the finish. A drop of light lubricant in the key cylinder every few months keeps the action smooth.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a round rosette door handle lock?
A rosette lock uses two separate smaller plates — a round rosette for the lever and a separate round plate for the keyed cylinder — instead of one long mortise backplate.
Is this suitable for a main entrance door?
No, rosette locks are designed for interior doors. A mortise or higher-security lock is better suited for main entrances.
Is this a complete set with keys?
Yes — lever, rosette, separate cylinder plate, latch, and a matching set of keys are all included.
How is this different from Guardian and Orion?
Guardian and Orion use square rosettes with faceted, geometric levers. Shield uses a round rosette with a plain, unfaceted lever — the simplest option of the three.
Can this be installed on any door?
It needs standard round rosette-lock door prep (separate cutouts for the rosette and cylinder plate). If replacing an existing lock, confirm your current prep matches.
Does the matte black finish scratch easily?
It’s treated to resist everyday scratches and wear under normal use; avoid abrasive cleaning tools.
